Abstract Submission Guidelines

THE THIRD BIENNIAL SIGMA THETA TAU INTERNATIONAL ARIZONA CONSORTIUM RESEARCH CONFERENCE

We are pleased that you have chosen to answer the call for abstract submission for the 2004 The Third Biennial Sigma Theta Tau International Arizona Consortium Research Conference. Nurses from any practice or education setting are invited to submit abstracts (guidelines below) describing their research/scholarship. All abstracts are due September 30, 2003.

Please read the following guidelines for submission carefully. The review panel will not review incomplete or improperly formatted submissions. The Conference Planning Committee reserves the right to re-categorize any submission on the basis of merit, time constraints, and theme. Registration and attendance at the Annual Conference is required for all conference presenters.

Abstract Submission Information

The Arizona Sigma Theta Tau International Research Consortium invites you to submit an abstract for this exciting research conference. The intent of the conference is to bring experienced and novice researchers together to share the state of the art in nursing research. This conference will focus on issues facing nurses as they determine how best to integrate research and scholarly evidence into their practice. Emphasis will be on highlighting research and scholarly projects that reflect innovative ways to support evidence-based nursing practice.

Abstract Format: Use the following guidelines when developing your abstract. Abstracts not meeting these guidelines will not be reviewed.

1. Include the following sections in your abstract:

A. Background/Rationale
B. Purpose
C. Method(s)
D. Results
E. Conclusions
F. Implications for Nursing Practice

2. Abstracts must be in “publishable” format. “Publishable” means single-spaced, in 12 point New Times Roman font, with a one inch margin all around.
3. A completed Abstract Submission Form must accompany all abstracts (see below).

Abstract Submission Guidelines

Use the following guidelines when submitting your abstract. Only electronic abstract submissions will be accepted. Download Submission form (MS-Word format)

1. Abstracts must be submitted on or before September 30, 2003.
2. Abstracts must be e-mailed as attachments in Microsoft Word or WordPerfect format.
3. Two abstract files must be submitted.

A. File 1 is a “blind copy” that does not have the author’s identification(s).
B. File 2 is in publishable format with the author’s name(s) and affiliation(s).

4. Use the following file naming conventions for the 2 abstract files:

A. File 1 without the author’s identification(s): Example: Doe, J, Blind Copy
B. File 2 in publishable format with the author’s name(s) and affiliation(s): Example: Doe, J

5. E-mail abstracts to: azstti@nursing.arizona.edu.
