Student Awards
Purpose:
To recognize outstanding performance among graduate students in The
University of Arizona College of Nursing
Frequency:
Annually
Presented at the Induction Banquet
Nature of the Award:
Individual plaque presented to one MS Student or to one PhD Student
Eligibility:
*Enrolled
for a minimum of 3 units of credit at the time of nomination.
Except doctoral candidates who must be enrolled in at least 1 unit at the time
of nomination.
Completion of a minimum of 9 units at the time of nomination.
GPA of 3.5 in graduate coursework.
Criteria:
1. Demonstrates leadership within student or professional groups.
2. Contributes to an environment that encourages scholarship and
creativity.
3. Mentors and promotes leadership and scholarship abilities with
others.
4. Is committed to the development of nursing science and nursing
practice through research.
5. Consistently demonstrates graduate work of high academic quality.
6. Promotes a positive image of nursing among peers, members of the
profession, and the community.
Nomination Procedure:
· A faculty member who is a member of Beta Mu Chapter must submit the
nomination form.
· The Nomination Form is due February 14, 2005
· Letters of support (not to exceed two) are welcome.
Selection Procedure:
The Awardee will be selected by the Beta Mu Chapter Awards Committee.
